MGE was the prime consultant of a diversified team of architects, engineers and planners that completed the design of three light rail stations on Sacramento Regional Transit’s new Southern Corridor.  In addition to the civil and structural design for the stations, MGE completed the contract management and administration. The project includes two “walk-on” light rail stations and a six-acre “park & ride” station. MGE was one of three consultants selected to complete the design for of a total of seven stations on the Corridor. The individual stations designed by the MGE team include 21st Street, City College, and 47th Avenue.  The 47th Avenue station includes a “park & ride” lot.

The project design included the layout and grading for the stations and park & ride lot, platform and pavement design, ADA compliance, drainage design, water, storm water quality design, utility hook-ups and relocation, as well as the structural design of the station shelters and mini-high ramps.  In addition, MGE completed off-site improvements to local streets, sidewalks and signals for City of Sacramento as mitigation for the traffic impacts of these new infill transit stations
