MGE completed the bridge and roadway design and PS&E for this HBP funded project for the County of Yolo Planning and Public Works Department. The project consisted of constructing a replacement bridge and approach roadways on a new alignment adjacent to the existing structurally deficient bridge. The replacement bridge consisted of a 370-foot, three-span, cast-in-place, prestressed concrete box girder bridge supported on cast-in-drilled-hole concrete pile shaft foundations with reinforced concrete pile extensions. Although bank protection was provided, abutment 1 was designed so that it could be converted to a bent based on future predictions of creek movement into the western bank.
