As part of the team providing engineering support for the preparation of the EIS/EIR for the Folsom Corridor Light Rail Extension and Double Tracking, MGE completed an Advance Planning Study for the new “Bee” Bridge. The APS recommended a 1384-foot long, cast-in-place, prestressed concrete single-cell concrete box girder superstructure supported on single column bents. The new bridge was located on a curved alignment parallel to the existing structure. During the final design phase, as part of the design team responsible for the preparation of the PS&E, MGE completed the independent design check and constructability review for the structure.
